Assistant Directors, Criminal Justice Division The Criminal Justice Division is seeking candidates to fill multiple Executive Level 1/Assistant Director positions across the Transnational Crime Branch and High Tech Crime Branch. The Division is responsible for a wide range of criminal justice policy and legislative reform projects and provides advice to the Attorney-General and across government on various criminal justice issues. Transnational Crime Branch focuses on complex transnational crime legislation, strategy, and policy. The Branch advises and progresses work on transnational, serious, and organised crime, and key crime types and enablers, including money laundering, economic crime, illicit drugs, and illicit firearms. It collaborates closely with international partners and Commonwealth, state, and territory agencies and law enforcement. Key priorities include implementing major reforms to Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime and coordinating efforts to prepare for the Financial Action Task Force's evaluation of Australia's regime in 2026. High Tech Crime Branch manages the Commonwealth cybercrime and child abuse offence framework, alongside the Commonwealth electronic surveillance framework, supporting various police forces, crime commissions, anti-corruption agencies, and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation in investigating serious crime and security threats. The Branch works with Commonwealth, state, territory, and international partners, including industry. Key priorities include delivering comprehensive reforms to the electronic surveillance framework, conducting holistic reviews of the Commonwealth cybercrime and child abuse offence frameworks, supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in managing Australia's accession to the UN Cybercrime convention, and assisting agencies and industry in operating within the electronic surveillance framework.
