These are maternity relief positions and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. The Central Coast Local Health District is excited to offer two temporary full-time vacancies for Registered Midwives to join their dedicated team within the Midwifery Group Practice. These positions will require you to work across both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. This is a fantastic opportunity for midwives who are passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care and who thrive in a supportive and collaborative work environment.As a Registered Midwife, you will provide safe, efficient, and effective care to women and their families within the midwifery continuity of care model. Your role will involve the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of maternity care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care, responding to emergencies, and maintaining documentation in accordance with clinical guidelines. Additionally, you will mentor and supervise junior staff, including student midwives, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. This is a highly rewarding role where you will be directly involved in supporting women throughout their pregnancy journey and beyond.The role has an on-call component for labour and birth to maximise the continuity of midwifery care for women and families. About You You have current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA (Division 1). You have recent clinical experience in midwifery. You have a current Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel between sites. You have recent clinical experience across the full continuum of midwifery care (including competency in venepuncture, cannulation, and perineal repair, and ability to practice in line with clinical guidelines).
