Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including teaching literacy and numeracy skills. SC2: Experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies. SC3: Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice. SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges: range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Range 2 classroom teachers assist in improving student performance and educational outcomes, contributing to school policies and priorities. Range 1 classroom teachers focus on developing skills and competencies with structured support, planning, preparation, and teaching programs. Responsibilities The role may include but is not limited to: Direct teaching of students; Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation; Undertaking classroom teaching-related duties; Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings; Undertaking non-teaching supervisory duties.
