Job Description
As an estimator at Piedra, you will be responsible for providing estimate costs for residential, commercial, or civil construction projects. Your input may determine whether a project goes ahead or not as you will be considering expenses for things like materials, labour, and equipment. Your input is required before a contract is let. Office Location Our office is located in Osborne Park, Western Australia, and your work will predominantly be at this location. However, some days you will be in the office collating data and preparing reports, while other days you will be out inspecting current and potential projects. Duties Work with managers to evaluate the scope, value, and timeframe of projects and budgets. Prepare, evaluate, and lodge tender documentation. Create and interpret project plans. Work from plans, drawings, and other documents. Incorporate building codes and standards into the construction costs. Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects. Manage and monitor budgets for existing projects. Produce labour and material schedules for ordering. Estimate the equipment, manpower, and materials required to complete a job. Ensure job specifications and standards are met. Essential Requirements Highly articulate in written and spoken English. Have a careful, methodical, and accurate approach to work. Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a range of personalities. Display focus and forethought. Be a problem solver. Have excellent math skills. Have good computer skills and the ability to learn and use technical computer programs. Work to a deadline. Current driver's licence (or able to obtain). Qualifications + Experience A diploma in a related discipline e.g., project management, construction, architecture, building management. At least 1 year in the construction business with experience in large floor plate estimating. Conditions + Salary 4 weeks leave plus conditions as per the National Employment Standard (NES). $75,000 pa.
