SGS is seeking entry-level Water Quality Analysts to join our team, conducting essential fieldwork across the Pilbara region and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental monitoring while working with a global leader in testing and certification. This FIFO role operates on an 8/6 roster (Thursday to Thursday) to Newman , offering a balanced work schedule and the chance to build a strong foundation in water quality analysis. Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to: Collect water samples according to Australian Standards, including Potable Water, Waste Water, Sewage Water, Soil and Hygiene, for testing against regulatory guidelines such as the Australian Drinking Water Guideline. Perform field tests to ensure results are within water quality acceptance criteria, and to report anomalies immediately to the Project Coordinator/Client as directed. Prepare daily field reports and ensure they are submitted within 24 hours of sampling. Arrange all field consumables, sampling media and equipment as required for each job. Prepare Job Safety Analysis’ (JSA’s) and risk assessments as required for each allocated job. Qualifications What You’ll Need to Succeed Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field (desirable but not essential). Field experience in the mining sector and/or as a Field Sampling Technician (desirable). Strong communication skills with previous experience in customer service and client liaison. C-class manual driver’s license (essential). 4WD training (desirable). Senior First Aid certification. Willingness to work a FIFO roster (Thursday to Thursday).
