The Role: Reporting to the CFO, the primary purpose of this role is to provide high level internal legal advice and support on complex matters and guidance on the interpretation and application of legislation. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring the organisation has the necessary governance and compliance frameworks and processes, to make sure it remains compliant to the regulatory environment. Other key responsibilities include: Lead and oversee the work of the Legal and Risk Business Unit driving operational improvements and fostering collaboration across key business functions. Develop and evaluate the risk management strategy and oversee the development and implementation of coherent and robust risk management approaches. Ensure all external reporting and compliance obligations are fulfilled. Oversee the preparation and implementation of the annual internal audit plan. Build strong and sustainable relationships within the organisation and with a variety of stakeholders in both the internal and external environment. About You: Our client seeks an exceptional Legal Professional who possesses substantial experience in commercial or contract law and/or property law, administrative law or corporations’ law. It is essential that candidates hold a current practising certificate enabling them to provide legal advice within Western Australia. To be successful in this role, you will also offer the following attributes: Strong ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in high-pressure environments. High-level written skills for legal, policy, and regulatory documents with sound knowledge of parliamentary and legislative procedures. Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, and governance. Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships across internal and external environments.
