We are seeking a senior strategic and commercial finance leader to lead one of the largest, complex and most exciting Aged Care and Community Services organisations in Australia, BlueCare with an impressive $950 million in annual revenue and a combined workforce of 8,500 employees. The Head of Finance (BlueCare) is integral to business performance, working alongside executive leaders to drive commercial success, operational excellence, and sustainable impact. This role will report to the General Manager, Business Partnering & Finance Operations and will have a matrix reporting relationship to the Group Executive, BlueCare. The role will be pivotal in providing strategic and commercial advice, guiding financial performance and leading a team of finance professionals. The successful candidate will be the key finance leader to the BlueCare Residential Aged Care and Community Aged Care business, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services and driving business improvements. Please note, this is a full time, permanent opportunity. Your part in our UnitingCare team: Lead the Finance Business Partnering and Financial Accounting teams to provide the BlueCare Group Executive and business leaders with strategic, commercial, and financial insights that drive performance improvement. Identify risks and opportunities from Aged Care Reform changes and lead financial initiatives to support the transition. Develop scenario and business plan modelling to identify future opportunities and risks. Work in partnership with stakeholders to influence decision making by identifying opportunities and contributing to the development of solutions. Foster high staff engagement through development initiatives and establish strong, trusted relationships across the business. Lead monthly business reviews, delivering accurate analysis of key trends, performance drivers, and drive business planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles. Support senior leaders to monitor performance against agreed strategies to deliver financial business targets. Develop credibility and establish strong, deep and trusted relationships across the business and build strong working relationships within the industry and across the Australian UnitingCare Aged Care and Community network. Work with senior leaders to identify areas of risk of under-performance and develop targeted strategies to improve performance. Work with managers and support staff to develop commercial acumen and capability to self-serve monitor and analyse own financial performance. Provide comprehensive financial support focusing on profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital and lead business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and 10-year capital planning. Lead transformational change and continuous improvement within the finance team. What makes a difference for us? Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business and CA or CPA qualified. Significant experience in a senior partnering, performance analytical and/or managerial position, successfully turning around changing financial/non-financial performance of a business and overcoming various barriers. Experience in a similar role within the Aged Care or Community Services sector will be highly regarded. Demonstrated ability to understand complex business problems and opportunities in a community, residential care and disability business environment (or similar field), developing solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its goals based on thorough financial and operational planning and analysis. Ability to work with geographically dispersed key and executive stakeholders, with a proven ability to influence and advise effectively. Exceptional storytelling capabilities, with the ability to explain financials and articulate strategy in a compelling way to non-finance stakeholders. Extensive experience in dynamic change environments, demonstrating leading change across the team. Effective in decision making and strategic management and positive proactive approach.
