We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Solicitor to support our Commercial and Leasing team. The successful candidate will work closely with one of our Directors for all training and ongoing support. While we prefer a full-time applicant, we will consider part-time applicants willing to work four days per week. Key Responsibilities: Draft and review commercial leases, lease extensions and amendments, including special conditions. Manage commercial leasing matters, ensuring compliance with the Retail Shop Lease Act where necessary. Prepare and review Deeds and correspondence related to assignment of lease matters. Draft and review commercial contracts and business sale contracts, and assist in these matters generally. Liaise with clients, solicitors, real estate agents, property managers, and financial institutions. Manage your own To-Do list and track critical dates for a variety of commercial matters. Answer and screen commercial client calls, taking detailed messages. Draft correspondence and other documents related to commercial matters. Requirements: A minimum of 1 year of post-admission experience in commercial leasing, commercial conveyancing, general commercial law and/or property law. An understanding of the Retail Shop Lease Act and its application to both Landlords and Tenants. Experience drafting special conditions and clauses for leases and commercial contracts. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A valid practicing certificate in Queensland. Strong ethics, professionalism, and commitment to exceptional client service. The ability to understand the importance of time-sensitive deadlines.
