About the Role The Lead Enterprise Procurement role provides leadership to a team or teams focused on the development of cross-cutting multi-year strategies and partnerships and conducting sourcing activities. Translates strategy into operational plans for the department. Builds and manages strategic supplier relationships that target realization of value over and above contract value through innovation, risk sharing, R&D and active commercial partnerships. Obtains the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership for goods and services, value, and quality using market research, supplier evaluation, and fact-based negotiation to meet business objectives. Develops value chain strategies and customizes these for a category to identify, structure and prioritize opportunities and make educated risk tradeoffs across categories and regions over medium-term time horizon that are then executed in the sourcing cycle. Frames, evaluates and communicates the risk-reward proposition of strategies, plans and decisions; improves investment methodologies, processes, capabilities and culture to enhance investment decision quality, to maximize the long-term value of BHP. Applies an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value. Mitigates people, community, human rights and modern slavery, environmental and climate risks across the value chain, in alignment with public policy and our sustainability and climate commitments. Makes evidence-based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives. Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals. Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning. Applies an understanding of other countries' political, historical and cultural context to build partnerships, market expertise and achieve business outcomes within an international context. Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation. Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste. Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs. About You 5 years or more of experience in leading large teams (8+ staff) Desirable, but not a pre-requisite – a relevant qualification in Business, Procurement, Commercial or Supply Chain Management, or a related degree. Sound knowledge of procurement and tendering processes. Strong customer service, stakeholder engagement, and support skills. A strong technical understanding of Procurement tools.
