Continuing, full-time $107,734 to $127,683 per annum (Level B) Plus 17% employer superannuation Salary packaging options are available 4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum Relocation assistance provided Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position) Closing Date: 11:59pm, Sunday 9 March 2025 Reference No: 225007 About the role As a teaching-focused Lecturer, you will provide teaching expertise and leadership in Plant Ecology, within the discipline of Botany at UNE. The successful candidate will develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching for online and on-campus students, building upon existing botany and ecosystem management units. You will supervise HDR students, take an active leadership role in the broader development and coordination of curriculum, and contribute to service and administrative duties within the School. While teaching-focused, there is potential for this position to be converted to a balanced research-and-teaching role after two years, subject to achievements in research and HDR supervision. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in plant ecology or botany. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in vegetation management and/or population ecology. You should be an innovative educator delivering research-informed, student-centred teaching, capable of inspiring critical thinking in both online and face-to-face settings. You should be able to demonstrate effectiveness as a supervisor of research students. A strong research track record, relative to opportunity, will be an asset.
