The Role Our clients are a large family-owned business that currently manages nearly 75,000 hectares of land and leases an additional 1,300 hectares. The company's properties span various climatic and production zones. They raise merino sheep, beef cattle, and prime lambs, as well as cultivate dryland crops. Additionally, they possess substantial water rights, which are traded annually. The enterprise is currently managed by the fourth-generation farmer, with the next generation starting to emerge. The property spans an area of 1,770 hectares and mainly focuses on producing prime lamb and cattle. It manages a flock of 10,000 composite ewes and a herd of 200 Angus breeding cows. The property is equipped with excellent infrastructure, including laneway systems, undercover yards, an auto draft, and a new woolshed. It is divided into 155 paddocks and features a newly renovated watering system. To ensure efficiency and maintain accurate record-keeping, the farm relies on programs like Agriwebb and Farmbot. It has also completed 90% of a significant infrastructure and pasture renovation program. Our client is seeking a motivated young individual who is enthusiastic about contributing to a sheep and cattle operation. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of daily sheep and cattle husbandry. Your duties will include drenching, vaccinations, drafting, body condition scoring, supplementary feeding, mustering, counting, and managing paddock numbers. You will work closely with the Overseer and Manager to ensure smooth operations. In this role, you will collaborate with other team members to perform various general farm duties, including fencing, water and property maintenance, and operating machinery. You will also assist with repairs and maintenance tasks. While previous experience is highly valued, it is not essential for the right candidate. The property is well situated, with a school bus service, as Holbrook, NSW is 20 km away. Major centres such as Wagga Wagga and Albury are within 80 km, providing essential services, including shopping, sports, employment opportunities for partners, and medical facilities. Attention to detail is essential, as is an understanding of the importance of recording and reporting information.
