Participate in teaching and research duties, including leading quality improvement or research projects. Participation in registrar supervision, training and teaching and other aspects of medical education. Promotion of good patient care and the good reputation of the department and the hospital. Participation in Quality and safety promotion and maintenance in Palliative Medicine. Participate in the on-call roster for the Supportive and Palliative Medicine Department. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians – Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (RACP AChPM) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist’s State Award. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Palliative Medicine commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position. Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer, nursing, allied health and undergraduate levels. Demonstrated management ability in clinical service planning and the provision of a patient focused, comprehensive, high quality and cost effective clinical service with knowledge and commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation. Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience. Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment including an active commitment and involvement in research and clinical trials relevant to the discipline of palliative care.
