The Role: This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to be a valued member of a diverse team investigating bulk water supply opportunities and progressing priority water projects across the State. You will support strategic water supply infrastructure planning and contribute to progressing new and existing priority water infrastructure objectives. Your role will involve working as part of a small team of professionals in undertaking strategic level planning activities and progressing specific water infrastructure projects. Your work will also include related tasks such as contributing to the preparation of high-level strategic documents, submissions, and reports for senior management and Executive Government consideration. Key Accountabilities: Contribute to the development of strategic water supply infrastructure planning and supporting documents. Undertake stakeholder engagement and consultation on strategic water supply infrastructure planning matters. Critically analyse and provide high level advice on a range of water infrastructure assessments and implementation activities. Conduct research and analysis on water infrastructure issues, including demand and options analysis. Undertake administration of grant funding and evaluation of milestones associated with water infrastructure project investigation. Prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications, and correspondence related to bulk water planning initiatives. Liaise across the department and other government stakeholders to progress bulk water strategic assessments. Contribute to project management functions, including planning, reporting, budgets, and HR functions. Engage and manage procurement of expert advice on technical water supply matters. Assist in the identification of emerging issues and provide advice to management on program and project assessment issues. About You: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar project development and management role is desirable. Experience in and understanding of one or more of the following would be highly regarded: 1) strategic infrastructure planning, 2) application of infrastructure project assessment methodologies, 3) economic and financial analysis, 4) engineering, water resource, hydrology or approval areas, 5) stakeholder engagement and consultation. Understanding of Government processes, particularly as they relate to infrastructure projects, is essential. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
