The role: Knight Frank Australia is seeking an experienced Project Director to join our dynamic team in the Sydney office, specialising in delivering education sector projects across different education models for both government and private institutions at all education levels. In this role, you will lead the successful delivery of high-profile education infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, time, and budget that help foster learning across all levels. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to take ownership of diverse, impactful projects and contribute to the continued growth of our project management division. An element of the role will also see you lead client engagement across the education sector leveraging existing relationships with key education providers. Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the delivery of education sector construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications. Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain clear expectations and smooth project execution. Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including project scope, budget forecasting, resource allocation, and scheduling. Oversee the procurement process, contract negotiations, and management of all relevant contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. Monitor site performance, conducting regular site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and timely delivery of milestones. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive problem-solving and effective issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Drive and promote a collaborative, high-performance culture within the project team, ensuring alignment with Knight Frank’s core values and client objectives. Work with senior leadership to help grow Knight Frank's education sector offering across key institutions and providers across all education levels. Help drive engagement with education clients across the country and champion our education offering. Who are we looking for? Extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects, particularly in the education sector (university campuses, schools, training facilities, etc.). Be seen and known as an education leader in the market, ideally from a consulting, advisory or service provider background or internally from an education institution. Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels. Solid understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and project management methodologies. Tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
