Job Description

Join a small team of shopfitters to travel across our supermarket stores on an as-needed basis. This role will be embedded in community on a full-time basis. About the Role This role will be permanently based in a remote community and will involve frequent travel across communities to provide relief support for our various ALPA stores in the NT and QLD. Join a small team which moves from store to store performing store refit and refresh operations in busy remote supermarkets. Set up merchandising displays including shop shelving and planograms in a busy retail environment, with an eye for detail. Follow merchandising plans, shelf auditing, label printing, identify problem products, and general retail principles of stock management and rotation. Shop cleaning and warehouse organisation. Work to strict timeframes. Work with onsite management to ensure continuity of trade. General Handyperson duties (maintenance of retail supermarket store, including shop fitting, and possibly painting, carpentry, tiling, and welding). Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the store to ensure standards are maintained. Carry out general repairs and maintenance to the store and attend service requests by store or duty managers. Role will require shared accommodation and travel in a small aircraft. Skills and Experience Forklift and working at heights license is advantageous. Previous experience in retail and general maintenance and repair work. Previous trade experience across shop fitting, painting, carpentry, tiling, or welding is preferred. Physically fit. A great work ethic and ability to learn. Good communication skills with a flexible approach. Follow work safe procedures. Proficiency in a wide range of retail and maintenance tasks. Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions. Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a remote community.
