As a key member of our team of technical specialists, you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and supporting the ICT systems and infrastructure that underpin ASIO's critical mission.As a Technical Specialist, you will assist with the provision of secure operational communications systems and capabilities, to support a diverse range of essential ASIO operational activities.A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.The key duties of the position include Role responsibilities As Technical Specialist, Operational Communications you will:• Lead a team of IT professionals, fostering a supportive and professional environment, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.• Design and implement ICT architecture solutions that meet business needs, incorporating onpremises, cloud, virtualised environments, mobile telecommunications and Networked Radio Frequency systems.• Provide system design, administration, and support expertise for enterprise application technologies, including Windows, Linux, and cloud-based platforms.• Deliver high-quality IT services, meet deadlines, and achieve agreed outcomes.• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, adapting to new requirements, and driving innovation in the IT team.• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, and provide regular reporting to management.What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes:• Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science or related disciplines or 5 or more years on the job experience in the aforementioned disciplines.• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading technical teams and fostering a collaborative environment.• Technical expertise in ICT architecture design, with a focus on hybrid IT solutions and cloudenabled technologies.• Broad experience in designing, implementing, and supporting complex systems, including Windows, Linux, cloud-based platforms, mobile telecommunications and networked Radio Frequency systems.• A proven track record of delivering high-quality results, meeting deadlines, and achieving agreed outcomes.• A strong ability to learn and adapt, with a focus on emerging technologies and innovative solutions.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent are advantageous.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and documentation skills.• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a collaborative and supportive mindset.What we offer you ASIO provides a number of benefits to its staff including:• A competitive salary, including a 7.5% allowance for maintaining a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.• Employer superannuation contributions of 15.4%.• A variety of leave options, in addition to the standard 4 weeks annual leave to ensure your worklife balance.• Flexible working arrangements to assist you to maintain your work-life balance.
