Technical Risk Specialist (32647) Sutherland, Sydney, Australia Contract till June 2025 with a view to extend| Long term contract Experience in implementing GRC tool/solution|AU Citizens only SME in the Governance, Risk and Compliance Our client is looking for a Technical Risk Specialist who will act as one of the key subject matter experts within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) domain.Key Responsibilities: Through the Initiation phase of the project, be involved in the final stages of the GRC vendor selection inputting into evaluation of submissions and partaking in vendor presentations and demonstrations. Acting as one of the key subject matter experts (SME) in the GRC domain, providing insights and guidance on best practices, regulatory requirements, and organisational standards as they relate to existing in the new GRC solution. As a key SME, provide input into requirements, and through implementation inform design and configuration of the GRC solution. This role will be involved in testing phases as well, ensuring the GRC solution functions as intended. Working alongside key business stakeholders, capture and define key GRC data structures and hierarchies and ensure that these are translated into the configuration of the new GRC solution. In the leadup to onboarding and migration, work with the Organisation’s teams to uplift their existing registers, controls, and data prior to cutover. For the teams requiring a more focussed uplift, implement plans to move these teams to a position of readiness. For the Organisation’s teams that will be onboarding onto the new GRC solution, and partnering with the Project Change Manager, develop and execute change management plans ensuring smooth adoption and user acceptance. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information. In partnership with the GRC Vendor Implementation Team, Project Change Manager, and GRC Solution System Administrator, create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, risk assessments, and user guides. Working alongside the Organisation’s Reporting teams, GRC Solution System Administrator, and the GRC Vendor Implementation Team, migrate existing and/or develop new reports based on data managed within the new solution. Reporting in the broader definition extends to dashboard design and real-time views data views within the new solution. Key Skills Required: Experience working in the Governance, Risk and Compliance domain – preferably in highly regulated industries such as life sciences, health, manufacturing, engineering. Proven experience in management or implementation of GRC systems within an organisational environment. Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks and demonstrated experience working within second and third lines of a three lines of defence model. Technical proficiency in GRC software and related technologies. Previous experience working within a project structure, with an understanding of the delivery lifecycle – particularly around GRC implementations. Experience in working with large collections of data, and particularly in the risk and compliance domain. A background in reporting, both internal to an organisation and external to relevant regulators / governance bodies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
