Microhire Brisbane City, Queensland, Australia Venue Operations Coordinator We have an exciting opportunity for a Venue Operations Coordinator at one of our valued clients in Bowen Hills. This Brisbane-based role requires a strong understanding of the events industry. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently and taking full responsibility for managing the operations department and technical resources. We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong willingness to learn, and a proactive approach. Your people management abilities and capacity to handle multiple tasks will play a key role in enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional shows for our clients. Primary Duties for this role: Understanding the crew's skills and capabilities to efficiently assign them to events where they can contribute most effectively Managing the venue calendar and planning labour and equipment allocations between events Resolving equipment shortages and arranging transfers from the base warehouse Taking ownership of transfers in and out of the venue and overseeing delivery and return - or delegate to onsite crew Coordinating with the venue operations team and maintaining the venue logistics spreadsheet while handling ad hoc venue requests Attending Event Order Meetings with all venue departments and raising any concerns Participating in AV order meetings and preparing crew prints, floorplans, and other essential documents for senior team handover Attending operational teams meeting with state ops manager and relaying any info to venue team Maintaining the casual and freelance crew database and monitoring labour charges and hours against sold services Assisting the ESM in managing client inquiries, addressing concerns, and ensuring overall client satisfaction Skills and experience required to apply for this role: Previous administrative experience, ideally within a trade or hospitality team Proficiency in CRM or other sales and client management software (RentalPoint experience is a plus) Strong understanding of financial considerations related to labour, operations, and logistics Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate event-related tasks Highly organised, systematic, and able to prioritise effectively Capable of or showing potential to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and implementing new processes. Excellent communication skills with management, clients, partners, and colleagues Self-motivated and able to work independently while seeking guidance when needed Proactive problem-solver with a confident, "can-do" attitude Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and the full Windows suite (AutoCAD or similar is advantageous) Experience in crew management with the ability to provide clear and concise direction for event execution Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate busy periods and plan accordingly Must hold full Australian working rights Apply online or send your resume to and we’ll line up a time to have a conversation.
