Airnorth are on the lookout for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our busy Finance Team. This role will require the successful candidate to travel between Perth and Darwin, to support the finance team located across the two locations. The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the GM Finance in delivering month-end management and annual statutory accounts for the Capiteq Group. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll operations and has financial oversight and responsibility for all entities within the Group.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities Lead and manage the Revenue, Payroll, AR and AP teams to ensure compliance and timely completion of tasks, including delegation of duties and other requirements; Liaison with auditors; Manage and oversee the production of all customer invoices, demonstrate credit control, including preparation of comments on weekly debtors reports and actively drive and seek optimal Days Sales Outstanding performance; Oversight of the full payroll function for the Capiteq Group including supervision of the Payroll Officer, adherence to deadlines and accurate processing of payroll related transactions Maintain and continue to develop internal financial reporting for Airnorth consistent with internal group reporting standards; Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations; Preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements; Preparation of Statutory Reports; Maintenance of FBT accounts and records; Provide financial expertise and extensive day-to-day support to the GM Finance, and distribute reporting schedules in support of and to assist in cost and overall budgetary control; and Manage the cashflow and cashflow forecasting with consideration to group cash requirements.
We are looking for applicants with: A minimum of 5 years relevant or transferrable experience in financial accounting services for a medium to large company, including the management of a finance team; CPA or CA qualified; Demonstrated ability to combine initiative and analytical skills to achieve required outcomes within required timeframes; Strong numeracy and literacy skills including the ability to interpret legislation; An ability to work independently and be self-motivated; An analytical, enquiring mind able to problem solve, process improve and identify errors with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Advanced written and verbal communication skills; The ability to communicate effectively with varied levels of personnel; Familiarity with a SOX environment; Advanced computer skills in particular MS Excel; and Exposure to the Aviation Industry and/or Greentree accounting software (preferred but not essential)

Position DescriptionDISPATCH AND RECEIVING OF FLIGHTS• Checking in customers and their luggage using the Amadeus Altea Customer Management System) following the Customer Service Manual, including manual handling of heavy items where required.• Assisting customers to check in using the Darwin Airport Self Service check-in Kiosks and Automatic Bag Drop.• Complete all appropriate paperwork for dispatch of flights paying particular attention to passenger Manifests and KPI Reports.• Escort passengers to the aircraft through the appropriate gate and dispatch passenger and flight. This may require entering the airside in an open-air and loud environment.• Adhere and apply strict security and safety regulations.• Apply airline regulations.• Effectively assist passengers through airport terminals.• Assisting and caring for special request passengers such as wheelchairs or unaccompanied minors.• Closing off flights for check-in as per closure time.• Processing passengers mishandled, lost, damaged baggage and lost property.• Pre-flights for the same and next travel day as detailed in the Customer Service Manual.• Processing the departure and receiving of helicopter flights.• Completing of Passenger assessment.
TELEPHONES• Telephones to be answered and inquiries always dealt with courteously and conscientiously.
EXCESS BAGGAGE & SALES REPORT (SAR)• Excess baggage to be charged in line with set policy and procedures.• SAR function is to be managed following the policies and procedures of the Reservation Manual.• SAR is completed at the end of each shift fully completed and signed.• For missing coupons, a copy of the passengers' PNR must be attached to SAR.• Discrepancies must be recorded, and an explanation provided on the SAR form and reported to the Customer Service Supervisor.
DELAYED / MISHANDLED FLIGHTSDetailed procedures for delayed flight management are contained in the
Corporate Operations Manual.• Under the guidance of the Team Leader, passengers are to be advised of the nature and extent of delay within 10 minutes of notification.• Passengers are to be advised of progress at 30-minute intervals without fail.• At the direction of the Team Leader light refreshments/meals to be organised through airport food outlets.• At the direction of the Team Leader issue passenger disruption letters.
OUTPORT ASSISTANCEProvide check-in support to Airnorth outports as required.
CATERINGPreparation, loading and unloading of catering• Prepare catering for applicable flights• Loading catering onto flights• Unload catering from flights
