We source HACCP-certified products from growers and producers in more than ten countries, including India, China, Italy, Indonesia and Thailand. Our range includes processed tomatoes, rice, dehydrated vegetables, starches and seasonings, pasta and coconut products. We supply ready-meal manufacturers, meat and seafood processors, bakeries, pet food producers, quick-service restaurants, caterers, health and aged care facilities, and food service distributors in every Australian state and territory.Our product range and national customer base keep growing, so we are looking for an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager. You will lead our import supply chain, inventory and national distribution from our Blacktown facility.The roleReporting to the Director / General Manager , you will:Plan, direct and coordinate the purchasing, importation, storage and national distribution of bulk food ingredientsManage relationships with overseas suppliers, including negotiating price, quality specifications, lead times and IncotermsCoordinate international freight, customs clearance and biosecurity (DAFF) requirements with freight forwarders and customs brokersForecast demand and set purchasing and stock levels across product lines to minimise stockouts, wastage and aged stockOversee warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage of bulk formats (sacks, drums, bag-in-box), stock rotation and dispatchPlan delivery schedules and manage logistics partners and transport providers so orders reach metro and regional customers on timeDevelop and implement supply chain, procurement and inventory control policies and proceduresMaintain product traceability and compliance with HACCP, food safety, labelling and WHS requirementsMonitor supply chain costs and performance against budget and KPIs, and report to managementSupervise, train and roster warehouse and logistics staffWork with the sales, quality and innovation teams on supply for customised and new product requirementsAbout youBachelor degree or higher in supply chain, logistics, business or a related field, or at least five years' relevant experience in supply and distribution managementDemonstrated experience managing import procurement, inventory and distribution, ideally in food ingredients, FMCG or food serviceWorking knowledge of international shipping, customs and biosecurity import processesStrong negotiation and supplier relationship skillsProficiency with inventory management / ERP systems and advanced ExcelUnderstanding of HACCP and food safety requirementsProven ability to lead a team and meet deadlinesCurrent driver's licence (forklift licence desirable)What we offerSalary of $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experienceFull-time, ongoing position, 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday)A key leadership role in a growing national food ingredients businessHow to applySend your resume and cover letter to 28 days from publishing of this ad.
