    Position Title: Steel FixerLocation: Woodville North SA 5012Job Type: Full TimeSalary Range: 77000 - 83000 per yearKey ResponsibilitiesInterpret engineering drawings and reinforce schedules to determine placement, spacing, and configuration of reinforcing steel and welded wire mesh.Measure, cut, and bend reinforcing steel bars, rods, and welded mesh to required specifications using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and bending equipment.Assemble reinforcement cages and frameworks for structural elements such as beams, columns, slabs, and footings.Install reinforcing steel and mesh within formwork prior to concrete placement, ensuring correct alignment, spacing, and structural support.Secure reinforcement using binding wire, clips, and specialized tying tools to maintain stability during concrete pouring.Installs spacers, chairs, and supports to maintain required concrete cover and reinforcement positioning.Attach slinging equipment such as clamps, hooks, bolts, or knots to hoisting devices to assist with lifting and moving steel components on site.Assist with positioning reinforcement assemblies and steel components using lifting or rigging equipment when required.Support the setup of rigging equipment, winches, and lifting gear used to move structural steel elements.Assist with erection of temporary site structures including guard rails, safety barriers, safety nets, and other protective systems.Work with site teams including concrete workers, farm workers, riggers, and supervisors to ensure reinforcement installation aligns with construction schedules and project specifications.Assist with unloading, handling, and safe storage of reinforcing materials delivered to the construction site.Inspect installed reinforcement to confirm it meets engineering drawings, project specifications, and structural requirements before concrete placement.Report any inconsistencies, defects, or design issues to supervisors or engineers for corrective action.Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain safe working practices when handling steel materials and operating tools or equipment.Participate in site inductions, safety meetings, and toolbox talks to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.Skills and ExperienceAt least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Steel Fixer or in reinforced concrete construction.Ability to interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules.Experience handling reinforcing steel, welded mesh, and structural reinforcement materials.Knowledge of reinforcement installation processes used in concrete construction.Ability to work with steel cutting, bending, and tying tools safely and efficiently.Good coordination and teamwork skills when working with construction crews.Understanding of construction site safety procedures and hazard awareness.Physical capability to perform manual tasks and handle heavy construction materials.QualificationsCertificate or Diploma in Construction, Building and Construction, Steel Fixing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience and on-the-job training in steel fixing and reinforcement work.

    Position Title: Civil Construction Trades WorkerLocation: Woodville North SA 5012Job Type: Full TimeSalary Range: 77000 - 83000 per yearKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and level construction sites by carrying out site scraping, cut and filling activities, and ground preparation for civil works and residential construction projects.Assist in setting out work areas and preparing excavation zones to ensure safe and efficient construction operations.Operate excavators, Posi-track machines, and other earthmoving equipment to excavate, move, and grade soil, rock, gravel, and other materials as required for construction works.Perform excavation activities including digging trenches, footings, and foundations for residential and civil infrastructure projects.Load and transport excavated materials into trucks and support bulk earthworks and detailed excavation activities.Assist with backfilling excavations and compacting soil to meet project specifications and site requirements.Conduct daily inspection and maintenance of plant machinery, including pre-start checks of fuel levels, hydraulic systems, oil, and safety features to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.Maintain plant and machinery in clean and serviceable condition and report mechanical faults or equipment damage to supervisors for repair or maintenance.Assist with installation and handling of underground services and drainage systems including supporting pipe-laying activities for stormwater, sewer, or water infrastructure where required.Support the implementation and management of temporary traffic control systems and site safety zones to ensure safe vehicle and pedestrian movement around construction areas.Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, plant operators, and construction teams to ensure work activities are completed according to project schedules and specifications.Follow instructions provided by foremen or site managers and communicate effectively using hand signals or two-way radios when working with machinery operators.Maintain safe access and exit routes around excavation and work zones and ensure compliance with site traffic management procedures.Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures and comply with company safety policies and site-specific safety management plans.Identify potential hazards on site and implement appropriate control measures to minimize risks to workers and equipment.Use and maintain personal protective equipment including helmets, high-visibility clothing, safety boots, gloves, and eye protection.Complete daily machinery logs, inspection checklists, and operational records including fuel usage and equipment operating hours.Report site incidents, hazards, near misses, and operational issues to supervisors in accordance with workplace procedures.Support environmental protection measures on site by preventing fuel or oil spills, controlling dust and runoff, and ensuring compliance with environmental management plans.Assist in protecting surrounding infrastructure, underground utilities, and vegetation while carrying out construction activities.Skills and ExperienceAt least 1 year of experience working on civil construction or earthworks projects.Ability to operate or assist in operating excavators, Posi-track machines, or similar earthmoving equipment.Knowledge of excavation techniques, ground preparation, and earthmoving processes used in civil construction.Understanding of construction site safety procedures and hazard management.Ability to follow site instructions and work effectively within construction teams.Good communication skills when coordinating with supervisors, operators, and other workers.Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in outdoor construction environments.QualificationsCertificate III or Diploma in Civil Construction, Construction, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
