JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Production Supervisor Position Reports To: Production Manager FLSA Status: Hourly 26.65 - 28.90 This is a permanent, full-time position that is eligible for enrollment in company benefits after 60 days and 40 hours of vacation after 90 days. Report times: 6:45 am - 3:45 pm Monday - Friday, some Saturdays are a possibility January - April. May - December is peak season; hours change to 6 days a week. Position Purpose Summary: The Production Supervisor leads and provides direction to a team of production hourly positions supporting all tactical and strategic objectives for the Production functions, at the direction of the Production and Plant Manager. Principal Job Responsibilities: Holds daily pre-shift meetings and communicates any relevant information to the employees. Completes daily paperwork and submits to Production Administrator/Quality Assurance. Completes daily pass down email. Assigns employee positions for the day. Coordinates employee breaks. Rotates employee positions to avoid fatigue. Verifies employees have completed all tasks before leaving for the day. Provides basic equipment to employees when needed and completes required sign-out paperwork, where applicable. Responsible for performing daily scale verifications. Assists Production Manager with daily setup of machinery according to production schedule. Responsible for adhering to and implementing all policies set forth by HR and Quality. Advises and recommends work orders to be completed by Maintenance. Assists in yearly retraining of employees. Actively engaged in employee retention efforts by soliciting feedback from employees and communicating results with the Production Managers and HR department. Serves as a backup to the Production Manager in their absence and with new employee training. Other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise in Production Processes. Excellent time management and organizational skills. This position has high time demands and pressures that require the incumbent to effectively prioritize, juggle, and manage numerous projects at once. Strong leadership skills – Ability to build trust and credibility, provide direction, communicate, and ensure alignment across the Production Team and within the Leadership Team. Strong interpersonal skills – Ability to establish and maintain effective key business relationships with both internal staff and external contacts. Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with Company standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law. Education and Experience: Minimum of a high school or high school equivalent education. Prefer 3 to 5 years’ experience at a supervisory level with production responsibilities as a focus. Manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with a variety of production and quality concepts, tools, practices, and procedures. Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc. experience/training is a plus. Physical Demands of the Position: While performing the duties of the position, the employee must be able to use manual dexterity required for using hand tools and operating machinery; able to lift up to 30 pounds; must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods; experience extensive walking and standing; vision/hearing/talking; repetitive motion (hands/wrists); bending and stooping. Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet and slippery floors, occasionally moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud; variable temperatures of both heat and cold. 20% normal office environment with 80% manufacturing environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
