Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: 2025 Paediatric Registrars – join the Western Health team! 2025 Paediatric Registrar positions are available at Sunshine Hospital. Part-time or full-time applicants are welcomed and flexible conditions will be considered. Positions are for 3 – 6 months duration, commencing between May and August 2025. Sunshine Hospital serves a large paediatric population. There are 20 funded beds on the Children's Ward with a mixture of medical and surgical patients. The ward admits approximately 4,000 children per year. There are approximately 30,000 Paediatric Emergency presentations per year, and General Paediatrics works closely with the team in the Paediatric Emergency department. There is a busy General Paediatric Outpatient unit, and trainees get plenty of (well-supported) experience in outpatient medicine. There are a number of paediatric subspecialty outpatient services including cardiology, allergy, adolescent medicine, dermatology, neurology and endocrinology. There is an active education program available and ample opportunities to be involved in quality and safety, audits and research, or education. The positions are accredited by the RACP for Advanced Training in General Paediatrics (without perinatal) for full-time positions, and specific accreditation will depend on hours and work profile for part-time positions. Notable features of the department and position include: Exposure to a wide range of inpatient and outpatient situations requiring independent decision making, with close consultant support and dedicated admin time. Active teaching and research programs in place. Simulation scenarios are regularly run on the ward and in outpatients. Commitment to trainee well-being and support. The positions at Sunshine Hospital will suit junior medical staff wanting an opportunity to develop broad skills in general paediatrics in a supportive department. The positions will suit RACP Advanced Trainees in General Paediatrics, Continuing Basic Trainees in Paediatrics, Unaccredited Registrars, GP Registrars, ED or ICU Registrars.
