The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is recruiting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) graduates to join our Technology and Security Division (TSD) in various locations across Australia. What we offer in the ABS ICT Graduate Program At the ABS, we provide a supportive work environment where you can bring your individuality, curiosity, dedication and passion to your role. Key features of our graduate program include: Strong focus on development opportunities: Participate in a structured training program, shadow Senior Executives, and receive job-specific training. 12-month program duration: The program runs from early February each year, with opportunities to rotate to another role within TSD to further develop skills. Competitive salary package: Graduate starting salary of $75,746 plus an additional 15.4% superannuation. Upon successful completion of the program in February 2027, your salary will increase to $88,096 plus an additional 15.4% superannuation. Flexible start options: We can usually offer an early start if you are available to commence work before February 2026. Work-life balance: Flexible working conditions, including opportunities to work from home. Generous leave entitlements: Including 20 days of annual leave and 18 days of personal leave a year. About our Technology and Security Division (TSD) The Technology and Security Division is the ABS’ provider of innovative technology solutions and services, leading the technology agenda to achieve ABS business outcomes. Software Engineering Infrastructure and Platform Engineering Cyber Security Analyst Eligibility criteria Candidates should have formal qualifications or majors in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines with a strong Information technology component. In addition, to be eligible for the 2026 ABS ICT Graduate Program, you must: be an Australian citizen at the time of application have completed your most recent eligible qualification between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2025 be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance, if required be willing to undergo any police, character, health or other checks as required.
