Job Description Viva Energy Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Analyst who is responsible for operationalising the Lubricants business plan and is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Lubricants Pricing, Sales MI and PowerBI reporting. This role is key to analysing profitability data, developing tools and models, and improving processes and systems to achieve the company’s strategic and commercial objectives. This role requires strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, advanced data analytics skills, critical thinking and commercial acumen. As such, CAs have a significant impact on the financial aspects of the business and will be very visible as a commercial leader and the face of the Commercial team to Shell and our Finance, Sales and Marketing teams. Responsibilities & Requirements Operationalising the Lubricants business plan: Understand the Shell Macro Distributor agreement (MDA) and relevant trade practices. Track and analyse customer pipeline, wins, losses, and threats. Manage and review the cost of goods (COGS) from Shell and suppliers. Analyse volumes, portfolio and customer reports to track implementation and progress of the annual business plan. Coordinate and prepare for the quarterly Shell business review sessions. Monitor Shell formula pricing movements and provide analysis and advice to Commercial and Business Manager. Lead and implement list price changes. Participate in Global Key Accounts (GKA) meetings and discussions. Lubricants Pricing, Sales MI and PowerBI SME: Manage and maintain all the pricing tools. Provide, communicate, and implement creative alternatives and recommendations to improve tools, processes and performance. Implement and maintain customer pricing structures and formula pricing, and recommend and execute improvements. Provide pricing training, advice and guidelines to internal stakeholders including Sales teams and Customer Solutions Professionals (CSP). Provide tender analysis and support to Sales teams. Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience as Commercial Analyst is preferred. Tertiary qualifications in finance, Business or Supply Chain Management. Proven experience in a commercial or analytical role. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
