An incredibly unique and exciting opportunity has become available on a fixed term contract, full-time basis based in Victoria. In this role you will be working alongside our Health Services ADF contract to provide the highest level of clinical optometric care and excellent service to ADF on-base customers. This is a fixed term full-time role working Monday to Friday and will involve regular travel across Victoria, including overnight stays. How will I help? Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: Conducting eye examinations and other relevant tests in accordance with appropriate clinical standards, ADF requirements, and relevant regulation requirements, including providing appropriate advice, prescribing, and assisting ADF customers in fitting lenses/contacts lenses. Educating ADF customers, especially first-time contact lens users, on care requirements. Invoicing and processing payment for eye examinations in accordance with relevant Bupa guidelines and procedures. Assisting with sales activity and optical dispensing where appropriate, particularly with regards to lens recommendations. Updating and maintaining customer clinical records in accordance with Bupa guidelines and procedures. Upholding and maintaining the consulting rooms and optometry equipment in accordance with relevant Bupa standards and guidelines. Supporting the Store Manager and State Manager with other activities as required. What’s in it for me? An additional well-being day each year to treat yourself. What do I need? Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degree in Optometry recognised by the Australian Optometrists Registration Board. Current registration with the Australian Optometrist’s Registration Board or appropriate State licensing authority. Proven experience in a high-volume Optical retail outlet is preferred. Excellent communication, analytical skills and interpersonal skills. This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.
