We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services.The Bridge Program in Ulverstone, Tasmania, operates from our residential facility in Adahai Street, and offers 12 residential beds and three transitional beds. The centre is set on spacious grounds and offers staff facilitated outings, weekly recreational activities and arts and craft.About The Role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive AOD Specialist to work with individuals in the Bridge program who are experiencing problematic substance use and to implement treatment plans that promote recovery utilising a combination of strategies. This includes group work, one to one intervention and family support for individuals experiencing alcohol and other drug related problems.Reporting to the Clinical Lead, this is a Fixed-Term (until January 2026) full-time position based in New Town, Tasmania. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.You will successfully Case management support is provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice. Deliver effective and evidence-based individual interventions that support the implementation of the individual treatment plan including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention and Mindfulness. Provide harm minimisation interventions and strategies to improve client health and well-being. Develop, record and regularly monitor client goals to provide feedback to the client on achievements. Facilitate Therapeutic groups to provide Bio-psycho-social education. Make ongoing assessment of the client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit. Identify referral opportunities to assist clients in accessing appropriate support services and establish community support. Work as part of a team along with case managers and other professional workers to achieve the best outcomes for clients. You will have A minimum degree in a relevant field – social work, counselling. A Working with Vulnerable People Check. Experience as an AOD practitioner, ideally with experience in providing integrated counselling and case management. A clear understanding of addiction and the issues which impact on addiction. An understanding of co-morbidity and experience working with co-morbid clients. Experience in facilitation of therapeutic groups.
