Job Description

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced API Automation Tester to join their Canberra team. This is a 12 month contract with another 12 months extension. The role is open for Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance. 12 months contract with 12 months extension option The role is open for Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance Hybrid role (3 days in office and 2 days WFH) Paxus pays weekly As the Application Programming Interface (API) Tester , you will be responsible for delivering quality testing activities and deliverables undertaken by the Test Team. This is part of the integrated end-to-end functional testing process within the agency's systems including Cloud Hosted Applications, Mobile Apps, APIs, and CRM Portals. To be successful in this role you must: Prepare test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test execution, documenting test results and other test documentation. Undertake technical analysis of change to understand, prepare & execute manual testing for System Testing, SIT, and UAT test phases. Identify, design, and develop automated tests and frameworks for API and Cloud Applications using in-house Automation tools. Plan, design & implement Test Automation across API implementations. Understand testing needs and ensure automated test scripts are created, maintained, and executed to meet software release deliverables and project testing requirements. Ensure automated test scripts are created, maintained, and executed to support integrated & regression testing. Contribute to the continuous improvement of test quality by undertaking reviews and recommending improvements. Work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision with a self-motivated approach. Participate in the development and review of test cases to achieve quality outcomes. Understand the solution design document (SDD) and support multi-stream projects. Prepare relevant reports or documentation on the outcome of all testing activities. To be considered for this role you must: Ability to actively contribute to testing and development improvements as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in the use of Node.js, Playwright, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar. Demonstrated testing experience (At least 4-5 years) and ability to perform Functional & Integration testing within Cloud hosted Applications, APIs, Mobile Apps, and Portal systems. Demonstrated experience of at least two in medium-to-large scale Enterprise Applications using APIs environment. Demonstrate experience in troubleshooting n-tier layer Enterprise solutions. Demonstrated experience with the development and maintenance of API & Application Test automation scripts using Postman, Selenium, Cucumber, and API testing (RESTful) using API tools such as Postman & SoapUI. Highly proactive and inquisitive in work approach. Understand the API design principles as per API.GOV.AU.
