Hudson Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Base pay range A$95,102.00/yr - A$104,430.00/yr Location: Based in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne Role Type: Permanent Ongoing (Including Section 26 transfer and higher duties) Hybrid: Flexible work arrangement with a supportive and collaborative team. Our client in the federal government sector seeks a permanent APS 6 - Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisor . About the Role: As the Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisor , you will play a critical role in supporting the client's WHS and wellbeing strategies. This includes: Providing expert advice and guidance on safety and wellbeing matters. Ensuring compliance with WHS policies, legislation, and standards. Managing and supporting psychosocial safety initiatives. Driving continuous improvement in the client's WHS Management System (WHSMS). Key Responsibilities Include: Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to WHS policies, procedures, and Commonwealth legislation. Policy Development & Implementation: Contribute to the development and review of WHS frameworks, ensuring legislative compliance. Psychosocial Safety: Conduct risk assessments and provide advice on psychosocial safety matters. Training & Education: Develop and deliver WHS and wellbeing educational programs. Employee Support Programs: Manage and enhance wellbeing initiatives, such as the Employee Assistance Program, Safe Work Month, and vaccination programs. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships internally and externally to promote safety and wellbeing across the client's operations. Incident Investigation: Review, analyse, and report on incidents to identify trends and areas for improvement. Key Capabilities: In-depth knowledge of WHS, psychosocial safety, and wellbeing policies and legislation. The ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment in safety and wellbeing compliance matters. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels. High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and integrity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Requirements: Australian Citizenship is required for this role. A current security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain clearance at the Baseline (Protected) level is required. Why Join Our Client?
