27th February, 2025 APS6 or EL1 Asset Accountant | Contract till June 2025 + 6-months The Asset Management Accountant plays a key role in the asset accounting process, including capitalisations, disposals, and reconciliation, supporting the project finance and asset management team to maintain accurate projects budgets, forecast and actuals, providing project finance reports to the Project Investment Committee (PIC), Senior Responsible Officers and Project Managers.Role : Asset Management AccountantPay Rate: APS6 $70-$80 EL1 $100-$110 + superContract : Contract till June 2025 + 6-monthsLocation : Canberra CBDWorking arrangement: HybridEssential Requirements: Government experience and Baseline ClearanceKey Responsibilities: Undertake end of month/year asset processes, including AUC journals, project settlement, depreciation run and asset management table. Manage stocktake, capitalisation, disposal and impairment activities. Manage drawdown of capital appropriation. Maintain Asset Management Policy. Maintain month-end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve queries. Provide invoice coding and guidance for capital and maintenance purchases. Assist in audit preparation and process/system improvements. Capabilities and Other Requirements: Extensive experience in asset management related role and a comprehensive knowledge of government asset management processes, procedures and practices. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships. Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to provide technical advice and guidance. Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically and resolve complex issues. Strong excel skills and experience using SAP for asset management functions. Completed or working towards tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting highly desirable.
