Job Description
As a data analyst, you will have the opportunity to analyse unique operational data to identify cyber activity that threatens Australian organisations. This analysis informs a wide range of ACSC partners and decision makers by providing timely analysis on emerging threats and trends. These roles are well suited to individuals with an interest in cyber security, cyber threat analysis, and an interest in broadening their experiences and applying their data analysis skills in a strategic assessment context. ASD 4 Data Analyst: Support relevant and timely threat and trends analysis by collating and enriching data using best-practice approaches. Inform written and oral threat briefings for industry stakeholders. Leverage expertise from across ASD, the National Intelligence Community, law enforcement and international partners to develop high-quality assessment. Proactively build and maintain data analysis, threat analysis and cyber security knowledge and skills to identify evolving cyber threats to Australia. ASD 5 Data Analyst: Provide relevant and timely threat and trends analysis by collating and enriching data using best-practice approaches. Produce written and oral threat briefings for industry stakeholders. Actively build and foster partnerships with ASD teams, the National Intelligence Community, law enforcement and international partners to progress work and team outcomes. Proactively build and maintain data analysis, threat analysis and cyber security knowledge and skills to identify evolving cyber threats to Australia. About our Team The Strategic Threat Analysis and Trends (STAT) section, within ASD’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), generates and communicates cyber threat intelligence to support those defending Australia’s most critical systems. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for curious and collaborative individuals who are motivated to understand complicated and challenging issues within Australia’s cyber security landscape. The ideal candidate would be a strong analytic thinker, who possesses high-level oral and written communication skills to produce impactful threat and trends analysis based on operational data.
