ASD 6 & EL1 Cloud Azure Engineer and Cloud M365 Engineer As an ASD 6 Cloud Azure Engineer you will be part of a larger team to coordinate and contribute to the overall Cloud Division goals. You will work consistently to a defined technology delivery plan and provide specialist cloud technology advice and assistance to other team members. You will work alongside other Cloud Division cloud engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of platform solutions in support of ASD capability. As an ASD EL1 Cloud Azure Engineer you will (in addition to the above) work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability to achieve outcomes of existing technology delivery plans. You will work alongside other Cloud Division cloud engineers, solution architects and mission teams to contribute to the successful delivery of platform solutions in support of ASD capability. Both ASD 6 and EL1 Cloud Azure Engineers can expect to work closely with the engineering teams and platform stakeholders to ensure the platform is meeting business needs. This includes understanding and documenting platform requirements and functional specifications, including ongoing sustainment and technical feasibility of the platform. You will contribute to strategic planning and be accountable for ongoing self-improvement and professional development. Desirable skills and experience: Successfully use and understand automation and scripting, PowerShell and Azure CLI for automation of tasks, managing resources and executing deployment scripts. Utilize ARM/BICEP templates, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated resource deployment. Understanding of EntraID, including strong understanding of configuring user groups and roles. Implementing secure sign-on solutions, with experience in authentication. Applying security and governance, Azure security best practices, implement security measures like Azure security centre, network security groups/perimeters and firewalls. Contribute to successful utilization of cloud resources such as virtual networks, storage and compute instances. Designing and maintaining Azure DevOps for implementing CI/CD pipelines for automating infrastructure management. Ensure the correct management of user permissions and access policies. Implement Policy and blueprints, enforcing governance and compliance across the Azure environment. Drive and lead the selection and integration of automation tools, ensuring alignment of business and technical requirements. Responding to incidents and troubleshooting issues related to cloud infrastructure. Assisting with performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures to avoid future incidents. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to progress cloud business activities. Ensuring that cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and regulations, such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). As an ASD 6 Cloud M365 Engineer you would be required to coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent with a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. You will work alongside a number of cloud engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of platform solutions in support of ASD capability. As an ASD EL1 Cloud M365 Engineer you will (in addition to the above) work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of your work. You will work alongside a number of cloud engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of platform solutions in support of ASD capability. Both the ASD 6 and ASD EL1 Cloud M365 Engineers will work closely with the engineering teams and platform stakeholders to ensure the platform is meeting business requirements and functional specifications, including ongoing sustainment and technical feasibility of the platform. Desirable skills and experience: Supporting M365, Power Platform with experience of low-code tools to automate processes and analyze data. Configuring security policy to control how users manage Microsoft applications through Conditional Access policy. Configuring security tools such as Microsoft Defender for 365. Experience in Compliance Centre and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). Implementing Microsoft Information Protection for sensitivity labels and encryption strategies. PowerShell expertise and scripting to automate tasks, manage users and configure M365 services. Familiarity with Graph API to access and manipulate M365 data. Understanding the various M365 subscription plans, licensing options and cost management. Responding to incidents and troubleshooting issues related to cloud infrastructure. Performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures to avoid future incidents. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to progress cloud business activities. Ensuring that cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and regulations, such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). The successful candidate will be required to work out of the ASD’s offices.
