Consumer & Business Services has multiple outstanding opportunities at the ASO6 (Senior Regulatory Officer) and ASO7 (Principal Policy Officer) level to become a vital member in an agency with broad regulatory remit shaping the state. As a Senior Regulatory Officer or Principal Policy Officer, you will work in a small and passionate team where you will deliver strategic initiatives and law reform projects in line with government priorities. Through sound decision making, strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills you will foster effective stakeholder and working relationships to inform Government policy and meet agreed timeframes. Your ability to pick up content quickly, manage tight deadlines and use strong political nous in leading stakeholder consultation and advice provision will be instrumental to achieving impactful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to the identification, development and analysis of timely and high-level strategic advice and policy and legislative reform relating to CBS’ responsibilities. Develop and participate in complex policy advice, research, analysis and correspondence for and on behalf of the Commissioner, Chief Executive and Minister. Oversee and prepare strategic policy papers, discussion papers, submissions and briefs on policy and program issues, including advice on interpretation of complex legislation. Initiate and develop project and legislative reform management documentation including briefs, budgets, drafting instructions and status reports of critical importance to the Government that have State-wide significance. Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and peak bodies, including the community sector, in the development of policy and legislative reform. Experience in providing high level analysis, recommendations and advice on reform projects of a politically sensitive nature. A proven ability to establish and develop effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to adjust work focus to meet changing priorities and deadlines without compromising on quality. Demonstrated ability to operate within broad policy guidelines and exercise significant levels of independent judgement. Excellent written communication skills as it applies to policy papers, discussion papers, submissions and briefs. Successful candidates will be placed in a pool for a period of 12 months and may be considered for term positions as they arise within the agency. Successful candidates may be offered roles at either the ASO6 or ASO7 level dependent upon demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience demonstrated through the recruitment process ASO6 $97,022 - $102,626 pa ASO7 $106,512 - $115,137 pa.
