AMIHS is a community-based midwifery service.The Aboriginal Health Worker is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing flexible primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. This includes activities that address their holistic and cultural needs to improve health access and outcomes. The Aboriginal Health Worker will support women, their families, and their babies by providing a safe environment from conception up to 8 weeks postnatal, ensuring that the women's pregnancy journey is both culturally and clinically safe.This community-based role works within a primary health care model to enhance the woman’s pregnancy journey.Western NSW LHD encourages suitably qualified female Aboriginal people to apply for this position.
