Position : Permanent, Full Time Location : Morwell Salary : $124,840 - $129,756 plus superannuation and salary package The Organisation The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role The Aboriginal Practice Leader will be responsible for providing practice leadership and expert advice on culturally safe and inclusive services, including family violence, child and family services, and perpetrator interventions within the Orange Door Hub. They will also work to build effective partnerships with Aboriginal services and communities, ensuring culturally competent and responsive support for Aboriginal people seeking safety. About You Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose Bachelor degree or equivalent in line with mandatory minimum qualifications Significant experience in the family violence sector, preferably working with Community Professional practice experience in family violence services, child and family services and/or broader social services sector is essential Designs and implements innovative practices to establish a culturally safe, responsive service model for Aboriginal people while engaging others in necessary change. Demonstrates leadership and expertise in delivering culturally safe services, particularly in family violence, with strong negotiation and multi-disciplinary collaboration skills. Analyses trends, obstacles, and opportunities, linking natural systems and communities to inform policy and organisational practices. Seeks and uses feedback to understand and improve personal behavior and emotional responses. Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
