Reporting to the Head of Academic Success , the Academic Support Facilitator is responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating programs and initiatives that support the retention and success of students. This role involves collaborating with academic leaders, faculty members, and other stakeholders to design and deliver programs and services that promote student engagement, academic success, and personal development. Day-to-day accountabilities: In collaboration with relevant stakeholders including academic staff, Library information literacy specialists, and educational designers develop strategies to embed academic literacies, digital literacies, academic numeracies, and academic skills in the curriculum. In consultation with academic staff, develop and present workshops, both generic and subject-specific, which develop academic literacies, numeracies, digital literacies and academic skills. Develop the schedule for, and manage the related data of, subject aligned classes and workshops. Conduct referred, individual consultations with students/small groups using a variety of technologies. Provide systematic outreach to students who are identified as at-risk for academic reasons, including those on academic probation or warning, those with low GPAs, and those received through third party service provider alerts. Assess the needs of referred students and conduct individual/group consultations with those students using a variety of technologies. Maintain accurate and detailed records of student interactions and services provided using a student information system or other data tracking tools to monitor trends, patterns and issues, and inform the planning and design of sustainable quality and relevant services. This is a permanent position based in Adelaide. The successful candidate must be able to work from Wakefield Campus. Who you are: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred. Experience in developing and delivering digital literacy resources and classes. Experience in a student support role, specifically related to student learning/retention and success programs within the university sector. Demonstrated experience applying principles and approaches on student success, support, and wellbeing for diverse student cohorts. Experience in the application of adult learning principles relevant to a diverse student cohort. Experience in data management and analysis particularly in relation to student retention and success. We are currently recruiting to build out the capability across our team in delivering the academic skills that Torrens students require. Particularly, expertise in facilitating the development of academic literacies, academic skills, and digital literacies is needed to deliver on our commitments to students.
