Responsibilities Claims Management: Handle and manage a portfolio of commercial property claims, including those involving industrial special risks, from initial notification through to settlement. Assessment and Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of claims to determine coverage, liability, and quantum. You will be responsible for advising clients on the best claims strategy and will collaborate with loss adjusters, engineers, and other experts as needed. Client Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process. Provide regular updates and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support claims decisions. Ensure all claims are processed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate settlements with claimants, brokers, and third parties to achieve fair and equitable outcomes. Manage any disputes or escalations professionally. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the claims team. Governance and Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations, customer quality standards and Compliance with General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP) and insurer service standards. What will help you succeed in this role? Essential Previous experience working in an insurance, claims or legal environment, managing property claims, including large and complex claims. Confidence when dealing with people, in what can be difficult circumstances, whilst acting with compassion and delivering the best outcome for our client. A commercial mindset. Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands. Desirable Industrial Special Risk (ISR) experience would be beneficial. Enthusiasm and the ability to deliver high quality client centric services. Good analytical, negotiation and strategic decision making skills.
