The Client Service - Renewables Operations has an opening for an Account Manager who will provide support to the department. This is a full-time, in-office, permanent position, based in Melbourne. Responsibilities Develops and maintains positive and supportive relationships with key clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Leverages these relationships to help meet client retention, company growth, and profitability objectives. Provides leadership to the overall account team, ensuring that the account business plan is implemented effectively and efficiently. Leads the development of this plan through superior knowledge of client needs, market conditions, and a strong risk selection process. Performs underwriting and insurance servicing activities on existing and prospective accounts, as needed, using knowledge of exposures specific to the renewable energy space, focusing on photovoltaic solar, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems. This includes, but is not limited to, linesetting, managing reinsurance needs and placement, rating and pricing, terms and conditions, value analysis, certificates of insurance, preparation of quotations, assisting in proposal development. Collaborates with the Renewable Team Management on new business development and client servicing strategies. Stays abreast of renewable energy and insurance market trends, and broader portfolio performance, including competitor offerings, strengths and weaknesses, profitability, emerging trends, etc. Develops an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of our business, including an advanced understanding of risk identification and assessment, property insurance coverage, forms, underwriting techniques, company standards and procedures, financial statements, and business computer applications. Provides leadership and coaching to the broader Renewables Energy Unit, and organization as needed. Learns and leverages internal systems, applications, procedures, and authority levels. Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation of decision making and key documents within internal systems as appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or an equivalent preferred. Preferred recognized industry education designation (i.e., CIP or equivalent). 5+ years of property underwriting experience and/or account management, experience and credibility in the Renewable Energy market desired. Demonstrated track record in establishing and maintaining a strong network of collaborative industry contacts, identifying and supporting new prospect opportunities, and account retention. Excellent skills in sales/negotiation/presentation, verbal and written communication, planning and organizing, analysis, judgment, decision-making, problem solving, interpersonal relations, and team leadership. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Curious and driven to learn about new technologies, market practices, and trends. Intermediate proficiency level in the competencies of Exposure Analysis, Program Structure & Linesetting, Policy Terms & Conditions, Profitability Analysis & Pricing, and Underwriting Guidelines. The candidate will need to be willing to travel. This travel varies by client and account, however, can be up to 25 – 30% of the time. What is on offer Career development and training opportunities.
