Accountant (Manager Level), Dundee City Council Client: Hutcheon Mearns Location: Dundee City Council, United Kingdom Job Category: Other EU work permit required: Yes Job Reference: 86d79bebd2dd Job Description: Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be supporting a well-established growing Accountancy firm to recruit for an Accountant (Manager Level) to join their finance team in Arbroath, Angus. The role will be responsible for overseeing a varied portfolio of clients, dealing and interacting directly with clients and accounts and bookkeeping teams within the firm. This will involve reviewing accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns. Working alongside the experienced team of Client Managers to manage the firm's workload, with input into all operational aspects of the firm at their regular managers' meetings. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary plus benefits, offering a four-day working week (37.5 hours per week) on a permanent contract. The Opportunity The key responsibilities include: Reviewing annual accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns Building strong client relationships Training staff members where applicable The Successful Candidate You will ideally have experience in a similar senior role, managing a team within a practice environment. You will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, strong communication skills with clients and colleagues, and an excellent analytical and problem-solving skill set with a strong attention to detail. You will have a determination to meet tight deadlines and provide support to other team members to do the same.
