The Opportunity We have two fantastic opportunities within our Accounting Services Branch. We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team as an Accounting Analyst and a Financial Reporting Officer . These roles play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. In these roles, you will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports. Both positions require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to financial and audit-related queries. There are currently 2 permanent positions available: Level 5 Accounting Analyst (One (1) Permanent role available): You will be responsible for coordinating and preparing general ledger journals, analysing journal transactions and making ad hoc adjustments, and for whole-of-government consolidation reports to Treasury. Level 5 Financial Reporting Officer (One (1) Permanent role available): This role takes a lead role in financial reporting compliance processes, ensuring that statutory reports and reports to Executive are completed in a timely and accurate manner. (SC2) Sound knowledge of accounting concepts and Australian Accounting Standards and the ability to interpret and apply such knowledge. (SC3) Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to solve problems of a complex nature. (SC6) Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field and full membership of or progress towards full membership of CA ANZ or CPA Australia.
