The work location for the role is IKEA Service Office in Tempe. As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates. If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check. About this work area As Accounting & Reporting Specialist you will steer and support our overall financial reporting and provide accounting and reporting services. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Contribute to the accurate and timely execution, preparation of cash management reporting and support financial reporting in compliance with INKGA and Local regulations. Maintain and secure the right level of quality accounting and reporting as a base for business steering and compliance. Review quality issues and communicate to the team and/or country group to organise remediation. Responsible for various types of reconciliations, analytical review, analysis and maintaining effective internal controls. Prepare, post and reconcile journal entries & balance sheet accounts related to payroll, fixed assets, cashflow and treasury. Carry out internal and external audit related work, yearly filing and other compliance activities. Maintain cross-organisation readiness and continued business growth in terms of competence, performance and succession through enabling an end-to-end approach. Assist in preparation of annual income tax returns, and complete other statutory returns as needed (FBT, BAS, etc). You have comprehensive knowledge of Australia & New Zealand's financial and operational processes along with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You are a strong communicator and are able to translate your in-depth knowledge of financial accounting to others who may not be familiar with the language. You take ownership of your work, have excellent attention to detail and are able to multitask and adapt to changing goals and priorities.You are CA/CPA qualified, with minimum 5 years practical working experience in financial accounting with medium to advanced skill level in excel. You are familiar with the organisation processes such as; source to pay, sales to cash, record to report and can demonstrate the ability to secure month end processes including preparation of financial data, accruals, journals and reconciliations. In addition to this you possess strong communication skills and can liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders at a local, national and international level.To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have:An understanding of Australia and New Zealand's impact of company legal (GAAP, Tax, statistical) obligations, governance and compliance.
