Due to upcoming works within the business, SYPAQ requires highly motivated and ambitious graduate engineers across the following disciplines to join our incredible team based in Melbourne from Mid2025: Mechatronics Engineering Electrical Engineering Software Development This position is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a leading AI research project. This project will involve the development of models and simulations that will inform the development of sophisticated AI and machine-learning based solutions for a series of operations research problems. These are complex problems, involving multiple systems, functioning within a niche dynamic operating environment. This would suit an individual who loves to undertake a range of diverse and challenging problems. You will need to work collaboratively within a small diverse team across simultaneous tasks with multiple stakeholders. You will utilise your knowledge of engineering, science, mathematics, and computing combined with critical thinking to assist with the deep analysis of candidate solutions to understand their performance bounds. You will be involved in the preparation of reports, software, and other deliverables to stakeholders. Responsibilities: Design and development of AI/ML design elements Supporting Test & Evaluation activities Preparing reports and developing documentation for all elements of design Liaise with the in-house AI/ML team to improve our products and services Contribute positively to the amazing culture and affiliative work environment Minimum Requirements: Previous experience/study in relevant industry environments. Experience with MATLAB and/or PYTHON is a distinct advantage An ability to think laterally, work autonomously, and be innovative in your approach to any challenge. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in rapid prototyping and/or research environments. A strong interest to learn and develop new capability in an emerging field. Desirable Skills: An understanding across the AI, Machine Learning, and/or Operations Research domains. A background in Defence or Electronic Warfare About You: Engineering or equivalent.
