Administration Officer - Rural Community Engagement Apply now Job no: 500754Work type: Part timeLocation: BurnieCategories: Administration About the opportunity The Rural Clinical School (RCS) is funded through the Commonwealth government’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) program which aims to increase the number of health professionals working in rural, remote, and regional Australia. Specifically, the RCS supports rural training for medical students in Tasmania with a goal of increasing the subsequent uptake of rural medical careers. The Administration Officer - Community Engagement is a key position responsible for planning and delivering events through the RCS community engagement program. These events are focused on building aspirations among rural students considering studying medicine as well as exposing existing medical students to positive rural learning experiences. The position is also involved in other rural student recruitment and public relations activities as required. What you’ll do: Delivery of well-planned events. Provision of rural experiences that are highly regarded by event participants. Effective communication of opportunities for rural medical education at UTAS. Accurate and engaging promotional materials. What we’re looking for: Proven organisational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and meet deadlines. Well-developed verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and staff. An understanding of rural health issues and the Tasmanian educational context and demonstrated understanding of regional communities, particularly within the Cradle Coast region. Demonstrated competence with a range of contemporary office systems and applications including electronic and social media. Registration to work with vulnerable people. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $102,190 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $78,210 to $87,342 plus 17% superannuation.
