About the school The School of Education offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including initial teacher education for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, and postgraduate programs in early childhood, leadership and management, curriculum, special learning needs and religious education. About the role The Administration Officer will provide a wide variety of administrative duties to support the National School in the areas of teaching, learning and research. This role will also provide quality support to the Administration Team Leader in the effective management and operation of the National School. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support including arranging events, regular and adhoc meetings, teaching program support, managing and supporting School Advisory Boards and School committees (minutes, agenda papers and scheduling). Provide excellent customer service to students and University stakeholders. Complete tasks and communicate in an accurate and timely manner, whilst liaising closely with other areas of the organisation. Ensure the dissemination of specific and accurate advice while maintaining confidentiality, integrity and compliance. Interpret and apply policies, practices and standards under general direction to organise and prioritise work, while using judgment to solve problems arising in own work area. Ability to work accurately with detailed information; including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, managing correspondence, collating data for report and under direction prepare a range of written communication. Provide financial support by processing payments, internal payment requests, business credit cards, purchase orders and invoicing. Maintain School facilities, office equipment and supplies. Perform other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level, which contribute to the overall objectives of the School. Qualifications, skills & experience A Diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Proven administrative experience in a busy, fluid environment (higher education experience highly regarded). Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply them. Demonstrated success in the delivery of quality client service. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent computer skills including email, internet, MS Office (including Sharepoint) and student administration systems and the ability to learn and implement new systems. Highly developed organisational and attention to detail skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Proven capacity to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
