Apply now Job no: 502384Work type: CasualLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: Administration About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Teleservices Administration Officer to join the Mater Health Service. This is a casual position working across a 24/7 roster. For example, this roster is inclusive of day shifts, afternoon shifts, overnight shifts, weekend shifts, and public holidays. The purpose of this position is to provide an efficient, effective, and professional service for customers, patients, and staff of the Mater Health Services through the Teleservices Centre and Reception in keeping with the Mater Philosophy. In this position, you will be responsible for the following: Managing a high volume of calls and inquiries for Mater Health Services and resolving or redirecting to the appropriate department/staff member/extension in a polite and professional manner. Acting as receptionist for Mater Hospital Brisbane. Actioning all emergency codes as required and in accordance with hospital procedures. Developing and maintaining good knowledge of Mater Services, locations, personnel, and information necessary to deal with inquiries customary to a forefront position. Monitoring alarm systems including fire, medical gases, and security as required. Carrying out administrative duties as required. Developing and maintaining a good knowledge of rosters and term allocations and being able to utilize them as necessary. Participating in quality improvement activities including the development and maintenance of procedures relevant to the area and education and training activities. Contributing to and maintaining an efficient, productive, and positive workplace and communicating and cooperating with fellow workers to promote teamwork within the department. Attending/participating in regular, both singular and work team meetings to review current work practices and participate in appropriate developmental courses. About you As the successful candidate, you will possess the following: Demonstrated recent experience in a similar position (hospital or health setting highly advantageous). Availability to work shift work including overnights, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with the roster. Proficient typing skills and ability to utilize multiple computer systems. Personal attributes: A positive attitude and approach to work. A commitment to excellent service and accuracy. Mature, well-presented, responsible, and approachable. Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
