About Us: Tullawon Health Service Inc. is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal community-controlled health service located in the remote Aboriginal Community of Yalata in South Australia. Dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the local community, Tullawon Health Service offers a wide range of essential services, including primary health care, aged care, social services, and emergency response, ensuring the improvement of the well-being and health of the residents in this remote region. Position Overview: The Aged Care Team Leader at Tullawon Health Service Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Aged Care services. This role involves leading and mentoring the Aged Care Team to ensure the delivery of daily personal care services to consumers. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for consumers by addressing their hygiene, social, emotional, and health needs. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Aged Care services to ensure high-quality care. Facilitate regular meetings, provide training, and manage the performance of the Aged Care team. Ensure the delivery of personal care services, including showering, dressing, grooming, and feeding consumers. Advocate for consumers’ needs, including assisting with appointments and supporting social and emotional well-being. Develop, review, and adjust care plans for consumers to ensure their needs are met. Oversee consumer medication systems, including distribution, stock management, and adherence to procedures. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and accreditation standards and manage incident and complaint documentation. Promote a safe working environment, lead WHS activities, and ensure the maintenance of facilities and equipment. Plan and implement activities to improve consumer’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Ensure appropriate food and medication supplies are maintained. Manage rostering, timesheets, and attendance of staff resources to meet the service requirements. This job opportunity is not a remote or work-from-home position; it requires the selected candidate to work on-site at the company’s location. Must be willing to relocate and live in the South Australian Aboriginal Community called Yalata. Must have a current Australian driver’s licence. Must have a police check assessment less than three years old. Must have a South Australian Working with Children Check. Must be over 18 years of age. Qualifications and Experience: A Certificate IV in Ageing Support or equivalent. A Certificate in Leadership and Management. Having had at least 2-5 years of experience working with aged and disability consumers. (Desirable) at least 1 – 2 years of previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position. (Desirable) has previously worked in a remote Indigenous community. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and software. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities. A positive attitude and a passion for teamwork. What We Offer: Contract Flexibility: Enjoy the security of a 1 or 2-year fixed-term contract with the potential for extensions. Steady Schedule: Full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Competitive Remuneration: Annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000, inclusive of a remote living allowance. Remote Travel Allowance: Receive up to $7,500 per year, paid in fortnightly instalments. (In addition to remuneration) Remote Staff Accommodation: Furnished staff accommodation with subsidised utility fees ($30 per bedroom per fortnight). Generous Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks of annual leave, leave loading and paid Christmas leave (depending on the duration of the business closure). Program Leave: Unique 6-week continuous service cycle with 1-week paid leave. (in addition to other leave entitlements) Relocation Assistance: Up to $1,500 (one-time support). Company Vehicle: Allocation of a company work vehicle while on-site, including limited personal use. Financial Benefits: Standard superannuation contributions and the option to benefit from tax-free salary sacrificing (up to approximately $16,000 per year). Non-smoker Incentive: An additional 1% superannuation employer contribution for non-smokers (conditions apply).
