Meet and greet guests, sharing local knowledge and stories in a professional and fun way. Safely operate the airboat at Top End Safari Camp and airboat and/or jetboat at Top End Safari Camp's sister company Darwin Adventure Boats. Describe points of interest along the tour route and answer questions from guests. Undertake research, where necessary, to provide guests with current information on the history of Darwin/NT, its people, sights and wildlife, and apply new knowledge as you develop it. Drive Top End Safari Camp's houseboat cruise vessel Cyclone Creek on occasion once trained and if needed. Assemble and complete necessary checks prior to start of tour, including conducting prestarts, inductions, briefings and completing related paperwork. Assist with basic daily maintenance of property, equipment and premises. Prepare refreshments for guests. Provide feedback to management on tour arrangements and visitor comments. Maintain cleanliness of airboats/vehicles/sites and premises at all times, inside and out, to ensure passenger comfort. Prioritise workloads and report any issues as they arise. Undertake preparation for tours prior to guests arriving, including fuelling and cleaning. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the relevant health and safety, quality and environmental standards and company risk assessments/work instructions. Complete all necessary records and paperwork associated with the carrying out and ensure operational procedures are followed. This includes the completion of airboat logbooks and fishing tour log books. Maintain a neat and tidy appearance (uniforms clean and in good repair, neat, and proper OHS approved foot attire). Be proactive and show initiative, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely and professional manner. CRITERIA Current NT Fishing Guide Licence or willingness to obtain one upon employment. Coxswains Grade 1 or higher Licence suitable for operating Airboats. Possess creative verbal communication and presentation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with visitors in a professional, enthusiastic and friendly manner. Previous experience in presenting food for guests, and an understanding of safe food handling requirements. Genuine interest in the Northern Territory, its history, its wildlife and/or a demonstrated ability to acquire related knowledge. Ability to take responsibility, work independently and as part of a team, solve problems, demonstrate initiative and respond quickly to issues that arise. Public speaking skills: Communicate engagingly and effectively with small and large groups of people, including those who have English as a second language. Flexible, reliable and adaptable, with a willingness and ability to work flexible hours including weekends. Excellent personal presentation and hygiene standards. Ability to complete associated administrative processes. Ability to work safely with minimal supervision but be able to take direction. Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. NT Drivers Licence with H endorsement (H endorsement preferred but not essential). Commitment and ability to maintain currency of all required licences, including NT Fishing Tour Operators licence, RSA, first aid, H-endorsed licence, coxswains’ certificate and drivers’ licence.
