About the Opportunity Reporting to the Executive Manager Airline Business Development, this is a high impact role on a specialist commercial team, responsible for delivering the Airline Engagement Program and ensuring WSI meets and exceeds passenger forecast and financial targets by partnering with a wide range of Domestic and International airlines. The Airline Engagement Program comprises a broad set of commercial workstreams to develop revenue-generating partnerships with major airlines globally. This position will provide specialist industry and analytical support for the overall program and execute significant agreements in the lead up to WSI's opening in 2026. Key responsibilities : Responsible for planning and preparing airline engagement events including senior stakeholder meetings and presentations with a wide range of domestic and international airlines. Prepare airline pitches promoting WSI's benefits to win airline customers and execute agreements. Collaborate with a broad WSI stakeholder group to gain consensus and endorsement for aeronautical and related proposals. This may include leading discussions and managing small projects. Support all aspects of the broader airline engagement strategy, including preparation for aviation conferences and summits. Develop and maintain the CRM platform to build a database of airline intelligence. Collaborate with WSI stakeholders to align airline engagement priorities with customer and operational strategy, developing milestones and a consolidated timeline of key interactions. Conduct research on industry issues, competitors, and emerging trends to identify threats and opportunities, and communicate findings. Support the preparation of airport passenger and freight forecasts, including synthetic schedules for WSA's Demand Forecasting process. Support catchment and route development programs using market intelligence to provide insights into airline route economics and prepare compelling presentations for airlines. Support the Commercial and Strategy team in projects related to the commercial success of WSI, including activities in the freight precinct, retail precinct, property, aviation support services and the business park. Comply with local, state and federal security and environmental legislation when pursuing business opportunities. Actively demonstrate and endorse WSI values by showing awareness and respect to the community, company, shareholders, and other stakeholders. About You Tertiary qualified in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Business or Economics. A working knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry, supported by previous experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting or similar roles. Experience in the airline, airport or other aviation industries; airline route development experience would be an advantage. Outstanding business and commercial acumen, particularly with data analysis and interrogation. Experience working with airline/airport industry analytics tools (such as AirportIS, OAG Schedules, PowerBI) and willingness to keep abreast with the latest tools and data visualisation techniques. Well-developed verbal, written communication and presentations skills and demonstrated experience applying these skills to engage and influence a range of stakeholders. Ability to apply problem solving skills to identify a range of solutions to complex problems. Analytical and financial modelling skills, with attention to detail and ability to develop error checking methodologies. Proven track record in building trusting and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. A high energy individual who is driven to succeed. An ability to cope with ambiguity and remain resilient, flexible and outcome focused in a high pressure environment. Effective organisational skills including planning, measuring progress, and being agile to ensure conflicting priorities are effectively managed. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of the team. A demonstrated passion for the WSI project and an understanding of the broader economic impact for the Western Sydney community.
