What This Role Offers Build your own team from the ground up Provide coverage for the Underground Manager, including alternate ticket-holding duties Help start-up our brand-new Gossan Valley mine before transitioning into operations Collaborate with a large Technical Services team Hold responsibility for managing multiple contractors About the Opportunity With the commencement of our Gossan Valley Expansion Project, an opportunity has arisen for an Alternate Underground Manager to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Underground Manager and work on an 8:6 roster. Your focus will be on supporting the safe and efficient management of all underground mining activities. Your primary responsibilities will include: Overseeing underground mining operations to ensure compliance with safety, contractual, and statutory requirements while meeting production and cost targets. Providing technical leadership to scheduling and planning engineers, ensuring accurate schedules and plans align with production goals. Conducting regular underground inspections and collaborating with contractors to ensure the practical implementation of designs and prompt resolution of non-compliance issues. Driving integration and collaboration between Technical Services, underground mining teams, and contractors to optimise performance. Supervising the design and planning process, including stope and development designs, production drilling, charging plans, and related QA/QC activities. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to budgeting and business planning, and identifying opportunities for cost-effective operational enhancements. About You Our ideal candidate will have strong mining engineering experience within an underground environment, including expertise in contractor management. Other key skills, experience, and qualifications: Tertiary qualification in mining engineering. First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate. Proven ability to lead teams in delivering executable mine plans and schedules. Strong technical expertise in key technical service areas, including planning, scheduling, and design. Current C-class driver’s licence (manual).
