Job no: 887932Work type: Part timeLocation: Adelaide CBDCategories: Medical Women's and Children's Health Network, Surgical Services, North Adelaide (5006) Salary/Classification - MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant - $416,551 to $605,769 Employment Part time - Ongoing Permanent About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Anaesthesia team as a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist , where you will be responsible for: Provision of safe, effective, and efficient anaesthesia in accordance with the relevant standards set by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Provide anaesthesia for elective and emergency procedures (in-hours and on-call). Ensuring that patients/families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow-up. Ensure clear and accurate documentation throughout the anaesthetic process. Provide appropriate post-operative care from anaesthesia through the Post Anaesthesia Care Unit to the ward. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Health Visiting Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement. Clinical excellence and extensive experience in the specialty of Paediatric Anaesthesia. Understanding both the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families. Ability to work independently and under limited direction to meet deadlines and achieve agreed outputs. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues.
